The SITW Legacy fund will graciously accept contributions from naturalist alumni, their extended families, and people from our larger SITW community who understand the life-long impact School in the Woods has on children.

The land surrounding our school has the potential to be sold in the future, possibly to a developer. We hope to permanently protect some surrounding acres so future naturalists and countless other students can experience outdoor learning on the beautiful property.

We offer six “zones” of giving, reflecting the six ecosystems found in our Pikes Peak region:

  • Riparian Zone: $1.00-$49.00

  • Grasslands Zone: $50.00-$149.00

  • Montane Shrubland Zone: $150.00-$499.00

  • Montane Forest Zone: $500.00-$999.00

  • Subalpine Forest Zone: $1000.00 - $4999.00

  • Alpine Tundra Zone: $5000.00 and above

While we collect Turkey Trot donations mostly in October, we hope that friends will feel comfortable giving to the Legacy Fund whenever they want, all year long, and in the future. Both funds are tax-deductible, and you’ll receive a receipt.
